Pre-Departure Instructions for Overseas Study
International students confirmed to participate in exchange programs, research in laboratories, dual-degree programs, or corporate internships must complete the necessary procedures before departing Taiwan. Upon completing their overseas studies, students must return to NTUST for re-enrollment procedures.
Documents Required for Departure Procedures
- Overseas Declaration Form (Original copy, signature required. The guarantor serves as an emergency contact and can be a friend).
- Admission Letter or Laboratory Research Approval Letter (One photocopy).
- Approval or Recommendation Letter from Supervisor (Undergraduate students are exempt).
- Academic Calendar from Host Institution (Downloadable from partner university websites. Not required for lab research or corporate internships).
- Overseas Procedures Form (Fill in basic information, including your overseas address. Get it stamped in order by your department office, library, Student Affairs Office, Office of International Affairs, and Academic Affairs Office. The Academic Affairs Office will keep the original and provide a photocopy, which must be submitted back to the OIA).
- E-ticket or Confirmed Flight Itinerary (One photocopy).
Post-Exchange Return Procedures
International students must return to Taiwan Tech/NTUST and complete re-enrollment procedures within 30 days after finishing their exchange, research, dual-degree program, or internship.
Required Documents for Return Procedures
- Return Enrollment Form (Get it stamped in order by your department office, Academic Affairs Office, and International Affairs Office. Submit along with the following documents.)
- Reflection Report (At least 2 pages in English, in Word or PDF format. Save the file on a USB drive for submission. The report must be meaningful; if deemed substandard, revisions will be required.)
- Five Photos Related to Your Study Abroad Experience (In .jpg format, saved on a USB drive or emailed to the contact of OIA. These may be used for future exchange program briefings or promotions.)
Additional Notes
- Students grant Taiwan Tech/NTUST the right to publish their reflection reports and photos on official websites or promotional materials.
- Students must assist future applicants with guidance. OIA may share your contact information with future applicants without requiring additional consent.
