Old Love, New Twist

The theme of “Old Love, New Twist” is to inspire participants to creatively transform old clothes provided in the classroom, using diverse materials to give these garments a fresh, unique look. In this process, our students will share what they’ve learned by guiding foreign college students, who can also introduce traditional clothing from their own countries and incorporate those elements into the designs.

 Additionally, this event aims to encourage students to communicate the clothing culture in English, enhance understanding, and cultivate participants’ international perspectives and intercultural abilities.
 

The International students will need to pay for the transportation expense in advance. Taiwan Tech will reimburse the fee thereafter. (Please keep the receipts.)

Saturday, 7^th December

Xizhi Cultural Exploration Tour

9:00AM - 4:00PM

【6 international student】

This activity, led by Tianjian Cultural and Creative Studio, guides all of us in exploring Xizhi’s culture, history, economic development, and environmental changes to understand the local cultural context.

(1) 09:00 a.m.

           Students and foreign college students will first gather at Jhangshu International Creative Technical High School before heading to Xike Train Station to take a train to Xizhi Train Station.

 (Participants should bring an EasyCard or fifteen NT dollars for the train fare.)

 (2) 09:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Students and foreign college students will form groups (5 students + 1 international student per group). Guided by Tianjian Cultural and Creative Studio, we will explore Xizhi Old Street and its surrounding attractions. During the activity, students will provide a brief introduction to Xizhi's culture in English to the foreign college students, while the foreign students will also have the opportunity to share insights into their own cultures. The group will also discuss ideas for Xizhi's local revitalization, with foreign college students offering suggestions or sharing relevant experiences.

(3) 12:00 p.m. to 01:30 p.m.

Each group will guide the foreign college students to discover and enjoy local delicacies in Xizhi Old Street, fostering cultural exchange.

(4) 01:30 p.m. to 04:00 p.m.

Groups will resume activities by exploring Xizhi’s "Shuifanjiao Cultural Route." They will conduct field observations, engage in group discussions, and share their findings and reflections.
