The project is called Smart Tourism Taiwan. It provides a free smartphone app and web portal to help travelers in Taiwan. It is specially designed to help business travelers, backpackers, and other tourists who want to explore on their own and create their own itineraries. Using the app and website, travelers can learn about Taiwan in minutes, find tourism information on the go, and use smart tools to plan their own itineraries.

Through partnership with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Taipei City Council, Smart Tourism Taiwan have integrated a great amount of travel information, including the best places to eat, shop, and sightsee in Taiwan. In addition, the smartphone app offers an automatic trip-planning service and customized recommendations in order to make your trip easier and more enjoyable.

You are invited to sign up and give it a try! Please follow the following steps:

Step1: Register: Visit Smart Tourism Taiwan website (http://www.vztaiwan.com/) and register. All

          those who register will be entered in a lucky draw on October 15th, 2013! Winners will

          get a big prize!

Step2: Download and use the app: Once you download the Smart Tourism Taiwan App, you will be

             able to access travel information in need and smart tools on the go, and receive e-coupons

             from selected shops and restaurants! In particular, we suggest trying the "My Planner"

             feature on the web and "Plan A Tour" on the app. 

Step3: Give feedback: Fill out Smart Tourism Taiwan survey, and you will get a second entry in the

             lucky draw on October 15th.

The Smart Tourism Taiwan app has made great strides over the last few months. Most recently, it served travelers at one of the biggest electronics exhibition in the world: Computex 2013! If you’re planning to visit Taiwan, Smart Tourism will definitely come in handy.
